Hi, I’m Sarah.

Welcome to Believe Tuition!

Specialisms:  Primary Maths and English; KS3 maths (Year 7-9); SEND and Home Education

I am the parent of three children aged 19, 17 and 14.  I have almost three decades’ experience in primary education including the role of Headteacher.  I am an experienced English Lead, SENCO and Safeguarding Lead.

I can help your child to find enjoyment in their learning and help them to make great progress.  My vision when I founded Believe Tuition was to deliver high-quality, personalised tuition for all ages with guaranteed success.  I am proud of what I have achieved in a very short space of time and am excited to see what the future brings!  Bringing other professionals on board to work with me means that Believe Tuition can reach more children with our unique offer.

In my career as a class teacher, I taught in schools in Darlington, Redcar, Whitby and, for over ten years, I worked in senior leadership positions in the heart of Grangetown, Middlesbrough including as a Headteacher.  The key to my success as a tutor is that I am able to build positive relationships quickly and instil confidence and a ‘can do’ attitude with all of the children that I work with.  In my career, I have supported many children to build resilience, to self-regulate their behaviour, to want to succeed, to have fun with their learning and to be inspired to learn more.  Ofsted rated my school ‘good’ and awarded the ‘outstanding’ grade for pupils’ personal development. I have worked with many children who have SEND needs with huge success – particularly dyslexia, ADHD and autism. I make great connections with children of all ages and have worked successfully to support children who are not able to attend school due to emotion school-based anxiety and SEND.  My extensive experience in education enables me to be extremely sensitive to children’s different personalities, and I will tailor my approach to get the best out of every single child!

In addition to my teaching qualification, I hold a master’s level qualification for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO), a Postgraduate Certificate in Vulnerable Learners and the master’s level National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). I have an enhanced DBS and have held the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for a number of years.

Every family is offered a free first meeting to help us to start a positive partnership. Please email your enquiries or post a message. I look forward to discussing how I can help your child!

Best wishes,

Sarah
